Q&A Integumentery Scar Revision

Hello! I was wondering if you could help me with my question as I've gotten two responses from different locations - both conflicting. I was wondering if a Scar Revision would fall within the Intermediate (12031 - 12057) or Complex (13100 - 13160) block of codes?

Thanks!

According to the CPT book, The definition of complex includes scar revision. Although this one really confuses me as I would not consider a scar is not an open wound so to me its not a repair. Then again I also read there was an old CPT assistant article that stated scar revision falls under excision of benign lesion. When I look up in CPT index it leads me to the 20000 series about revisions of amputations. Id be interested in finding out where things stand now.
