Good morning Lauren and CCO staff, and fellow readers,
I have a question. The physician I work for always circles the E/M code in 9920X and 9938X range. If he sees these patients the first time, would it be appropriate to select the 9920x range instead of selecting both codes? The physician states that he provides both new patient visit and well visit on the same date of service. Please advice for proper code selection. Thank you in advance.
